Foodland Super Market Sees Great Consumer Engagement with New Mobile App Powered by DoubleBeam

LOS ANGELES, March 17, 2014 /PRNewswire/ — Foodland Super Market, Ltd., Hawaii’s largest locally owned and operated grocery retailer, recently launched a new mobile app for both iPhone and Android. The app, built in partnership with Pasadena, California-based mobile commerce provider DoubleBeam, debuted on January 29 and has seen a tremendous customer response with over 19,000 downloads in the first three weeks.

The Foodland app was designed to make the grocery shopping experience more convenient and save customers time and money. Foodland customers can load their Maika`i loyalty cards to their mobile devices, view their Maika`i point balances and track their progress toward earning My Rewards certificates for free product, grocery discount, or HawaiianMiles. In addition, customers can create personal shopping lists by adding items directly from Foodland’s weekly ads, scanning product barcodes, or just by typing it in. Using the store locator feature, customers can find the nearest Foodland location and identify which stores are open based on the current time.

Sausalito Company Donates Bottle Filling Station

Sausalito-based reusable glass water bottle provider Lifefactory and the National Park Service helped kick of the official opening of a reusable bottle filling station at the Golden Gate Bridge Pavilion last week.

Representatives from Lifefactory, Globaltap, the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy and the National Park Service at the Golden Gate National Recreation Area helped kick off the official opening of the new filling station in advance the summer tourist seasons, according to Lifefactory co-founder Daren Joy.

“The San Francisco Bay Area has always led the nation in environmental action and what better place to address the problem of disposable plastic water bottles than at the entryway to the Golden Gate Bridge,” Joy said. “This truly was a collaborative effort and we’re honored to donate this filling station.”

Shelburne, VT – February 6, 2014 – Meach Cove Farms and groSolar have announced the completion of Limerick Road Solar, LLC, a 2.96 MWdc solar photovoltaic (PV) system in Shelburne, Vermont. Project design and solar engineering was performed under the direction of L.W. Seddon, LLC and the installation and construction was managed by groSolar. The project is located on 15 acres of the 1,000-acre Meach Cove Farms, a certified organic farm focusing on efficiently using local natural resources.
